The Cozy Cardi

Well the title of this oufit post says it all. This is the comfiest cardigan I own. I bought it a while back at this awesome boutique downtown called Jacflash, and it gradually got pushed further and further back, deep into my closet. I decided to do some Spring cleaning yesterday which also included getting my closet organized again, and I found this cardi! Can't believe I forgot about it. I love how all of the thick fibres create a super cozy (and fuzzy) look. Because it's so oversized, I like to pair it with skinnies, finished off with a great pair of stilettos, like these wine-coloured pumps I found for uber cheap at a Nine West outlet. I haven't worn my cargo skinnies since last Summer, and I thought I'd break 'em in again. Finally, the necklace I'm wearing is one of the incredible pieces from the 50s which my grandma passed down to my mom, who then gave it to me. It's such a precious piece of jewelry that is the absolute perfect final touch to this rather casual outfit.

Simple in Stripes

Thought I'd share one more quick outfit post with you guys! Today my sister and I had our last sewing class for our "Beginners Sewing" 8-week long course. The classes were pretty awesome and our instructor taught us quite a lot in such a short period of time. We were able to get the basics down pact, take on a few mini sewing projects, and each sew our own skirt with the pattern and material of our choice. I'll share my finished product in an upcoming post.

I wanted to stick to just a few simple pieces today. I'm wearing a new striped top I picked up from Forever21. That store is the best go-to to hunt down some bright pieces to gradually introduce (or re-introduce) into one's wardrobe. I keep finding such great stuff. Paired with my comfy BDG skinnies from UO and fave booties that I'm sure you guys have seen me wear many many times on this blog. I LOVE them. I'm thinking of getting the black ones. And finally, to add just a bit of 'chic' to the outfit, I wore a gold BCBG necklace.

Turquoise Blazer

Happy Friday, everyone! It's 23 degrees is Toronto! *happy dance* Haha. Sorry about the lack of posts lately. I have honestly been craaaazy busy with my internship, but I really am loving it! My birthday is only two weeks away and I've been trying to figure out what I want to do. I'm not much of a party person so it'll most likely be a nice dinner with family and closest friends. I will, of course, be posting pictures from that no matter what!

Today I'm rocking my new turquoise blazer from F21. I really don't have any other pieces in my closet this colour, so as soon as I saw it, I figured it was def a keeper. It's time to introduce more unexpected colours into my wardrobe for Spring. I get so excited walking into all of my favourite stores & seeing all of their new colourful Spring pieces. I mean, have you guys seen ZARA?! Omg, *dies*... hahaha. Hope you guys have a lovely weekend!

Brave the Cold

So I woke up this morning with the sun shining, bright as ever, through my shutters. And of course, I excitedly searched through my closet for some 'lighter' items to wear with the expectation of getting some relatively warmer weather, as we have been getting lately. I threw on my new shearling-esque coat on top of a serpent printed dress from H&M, and AA leggings and was out the door. My sister and I headed downtown today as we've been taking some sewing classes (which has honestly been SO fun and I can't wait to finally get a new sewing machine)-- but ANYWAY, ha. Yes, once we arrived downtown, parked, and began to walk toward the sewing studio, I couldn't believe how much the sun deceived me! And yes, the sun can be oh-so-deceitful every now and again, which I hate! It was freeeeeezing today; teeth-chattering, hand-blistering, face-stiffening, ICE COLD! It's safe to say my outfit didn't exactly keep me as warm as I would have liked, haha. My sister chimed in as I cursed the weather the entire afternoon. But anyway, us Canadians frequently need to find ways to brave the cold (outfit-wise) while remaining fashionable. It's no easy task, imo!

P.S. I tried my best to not look as cold as I actually was in these pics! Hope I pulled it off! heh
