The Midi Skirt

Toronto was graced with some lovely Spring-like weather today, and my (recently purchased) three-quarter length skirt was more than appropriate. This skirt is a pretty little number that I picked up from Aritzia, and at such a great price that was impossible to pass up. The midi skirt is a piece that can easily be worn any season. During the colder seasons, opt for a fun pair of socks or tights -- I kept it basic with black socks for today to compliment my super soft black sweater from H&M. The skirt has such a lovely, subtle leopard print with an earthy colour palette, which I love. I then played off the earth tones from my skirt and decided to throw on my favourite pair of neutral daytime shoes, which are the Jamison booties by Dolce Vita. And finally, I decided that a little splash of extra colour would come from one of my favourite vintage bags. It has such unique character to it, especially in shape and colour. The burnt orange was a great pop of colour while still keeping in-tune with the other earth tones in the outfit.

A Girl's Greys

Hi everyone! My apologies for this being my only update in two weeks.. it's been a busy two weeks, that's for sure. For more frequent updates, feel free to follow me on instagram & twitter! My handle for both is @allyasis :)

Thank you for all your kind words of support on my new internship! It's been awesome so far and an experience that I'm truly great for. It's been really interesting to see ALL that goes on behind a publication. I've met some incredible and inspiring women even within just two weeks, and I'm soaking it all up, learning as much as I possibly can. It's a lot of work day-to-day, and there's never a dull moment, which definitely makes for an environment that one can thrive in. I know some of you have expressed genuine interest in what an internship with a magazine or publication entails, and I'd love to help in any way I can, so feel free to e-mail me!

On to the outfit ;) I woke up today to grey skies and decided I'd go for my favourite go-to grey leather jacket. My Mackage Kenya jacket is as comfy and versatile as it gets. The leather is gradually getting worn in just the way I like it! The buttery leather is honestly amazing... there's nothing that bugs me more than a restraining/stiff jacket. Haha. And from the pictures above, I'm sure you can tell that this one is definitely not. The bag is a new vintage purchase that I bought on Etsy and satisfies my gold-chain fetish. It's rather small in size but will do for the days where I don't need to carry much. And finally, my new favourite lipstick! Chanel Rouge COCO lipstick in Rivoli. I was in search for the perfect luxe and velvety berry colour, and Rivoli was absolutely perfect. The lipstick formula is DIVINE (and I never use that word! ha), so smooth, moisturizing, and amazing colour pay-off. I highly recommend it.

Business Fashionable

Hi everybody :) Hope you're all enjoying the weekend!

Next Monday I'm starting a new gig that I'm very excited about! I landed an internship with an awesome magazine and will learn the ropes of their marketing & communications department. I'll share more info about my experiences day-to-day once it starts, so stay tuned for that. And so, since the attire of the office is business fashionable, I wanted to rock an outfit today that would get me into the groove of what I'll most likely be wearing on a daily basis (but maybe nix the jeans! lol).

This jacket I'm wearing from Forever21 is slowly becoming one of my main go-to pieces. I'm one to try and avoid wearing black if I can (haha), and I love how this piece is basically a spin on the infamous moto-style jacket; the colour and material is just a more fun, girly (I think?) and pretty version :) The sheer blue button-up is a piece I'm sure I'll frequently be throwing into my business-savvy outfits, with trousers or a skirt, it just always works. And of course, I know I'll be finishing every outfit off with the right accessories - my collar necklace will be making many appearances!

Winter Chic

We were lucky to get pretty mild weather throughout the month of December, but something tells me January is gonna be a COLD one. So you know what that means *nudge nudge*. Yep, it's time to bust out your favourite winter jackets, scarves, mitts, hats... the WHOLE nine yards! Haha. I find that whenever I visit the blogs of my favourite LA-based bloggers nowadays, it just gets me insanely envious! lol Can you blame me? But it's all about working with what ya got. So it's time to embrace the cold with our chic Winter staples. It is possible to remain style-savvy during these cold months.

I just picked up these booties from Zara a few days ago. They finally went on sale! :) Such awesome leather, great stacked heel, and tall zippers on the outer-side of the boots (hope I explained that well enough). The jacket I'm wearing is from Romwe.com and I love the princess-y shape it has. I also love the moto-style zipper which adds some edge and contrast to the feminine silhouette. The belt was another boxing week find from Club Monaco and is the perfect tan leather that breaks up the darkness of the overall outfit - adds a little sumthin'. Hehe. And finally, my wool & cashmere toque from Aritzia is the perfect simple hat that keeps my head warm and goes with every outfit.

Happy new year, everybody!!! I've vowed to myself that I will make this year epic. I've already been asked several times what my new year's resolution is, and this is something I've been contemplating over for quite some time now, to be completely honest. I have so many dreams, goals, and aspirations, and I refuse to rest until I fulfill them all. Therefore, my new year's resolutions are to follow my heart & instincts, and to take more risks. As simple as I'm sure these resolutions sound, I can assure you I've struggled with both many times in the past. I realized that the few obstacles I've run into thus far that have stood in the way of me being where I truly want to be, are all a result of me settling, taking the easy route, and/or doing what others have expected of me. But this year I'm gonna follow my heart, constantly challenge myself, and work hard.

Metallic Love

Hi everyone! It's been crazy these past few weeks with all of the Holiday madness, so please excuse my mini hiatus! hehe. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas with your loved ones :) All of the feasting, gift exchanging, and quality time with family make me wish that this special holiday wasn't just one out of the 365 days of the year :( Haha. I'm super lucky to have gotten this entire week off from work so I really want to get as much blogging done as I can!

Boxing day was a definite success with all the great bargains I found! The jeans I'm wearing above are from Urban Outfitters and were only $5! Can ya believe it?! All of their sale items were an extra half off, which was pretty awesome. I've been in search of some super-fitted denim with a subtle flair and these ones fit the bill, perfectly. The metallic sweater I'm wearing, and am pretty much obsessed with, is from this adorable shop in Toronto (Queen West) called Durumi :) If there are any Torontonians out there reading this, do you know of this shop?! If so, HOW amazing is it? So many pretty pieces with quirky and fun prints too. I found a few more goodies from Joe Fresh that I will most likely blog about soon!

My Penpals

Okay so I finally have the shoes I've been longing for - the Rachel Comey Penpal ankle boots! Ain't they beautiful? I am a huge fan of Rachel Comey, and her shoes have got to be one of the most lust-worthy pieces of footwear out there, in my books anyway! Effortlessly chic, classic, versatile, and comfortable -- are all characteristics that my ideal shoe need to have. And these Penpals have all of the above! And the leather? OMG, the leather.. so soft and buttery, and is definitely a huge part of what makes these badboys uber comfy to stomp around all day in. Also, as I've mentioned in previous posts, I'm a sucker for wooden heels and wedges... and that's why I LOVE Rachel Comey's shoes! Almost all styles have the perfect wooden heel or wedge. But anywho, this was quite a simple outfit. The dress was a recent find from Marshalls that I've already gotten quite a bit of wear out of! :) It's got some nice shoulder detail which I really like!

Oooo and one final thing. The first week after I did my ombre, the ends of my hair were literally dying for moisture. They got so dry...well what do you expect after you bleach your hair? BUT soon after I finally started using Moroccan Hair Oil. I am honestly amazed by how much this stuff improved my hair within a week or two! I totally jumped on the bandwagon much later than I should have. So, ladies, I am now a Morrocan oil BELIEVER! And addict :) Hehe. Another outfit post coming soon!

Soft Palette

I've been on a hunt for the perfect collar necklace for the longest time and, truth be told, after months of contemplation, I was finally going to give into purchasing the stunning DANNIJO Stella collar necklace despite its hefty price tag. But, as you can see from the pictures above, I found one! Ahhhh, yes! Over this past weekend, I finally found the perfect collar necklace that didn't bruise my wallet too badly. Haha. I just bought it yesterday and I'm already obsessed with it, trying it on with countless potential collar-worthy outfits.

Now, I know it's Fall, which calls for deep and warmer coloured garments, but as you'll gradally notice from my outfit posts, if you haven't already, I usually gravitate towards a lighter colour palette. Nudes, whites, and blush tones will always be my favourites! Hope everyone had a great weekend :)

My Fall Staples

Hey everybody! Another gorgeous & sunny day in Toronto :) I feel like I always talk about the weather in my posts. Hahahaha. Actually, I know I do. The weather just really has that much influence on my mood. Thus, I can ensure you that a sky full of sun will keep me in an awesome mood all day long! I really can't get over how beautiful the Fall season is. All of the vibrant colours of leaves falling from the trees; the yellows, reds, greens and oranges collectively form such a stunning array of colours. Sometimes I notice myself just staring in awe. And, of course, all of the seasonal Fall comfort food is totally the icing on the cake! Hahaha. Speaking of Fall comfort food, I've been meaning to try this recipe out for pumpkin mac & cheese! And, as if the union of pumpkin + mac and cheese isn't awesome enough, it proves to be a healthier alternative for regular ol' mac & cheese. If I finally get around to trying it out this weekend, I'll definitely post some pics! Anyhoo, enough of food and more fashion! Haha ;)

I decided to just go for a classic look today with my Fall staples: a tan blazer, cream blouse, denim, booties, and a leopard bag or satchel! *NOTE: As you can see in the first few images, one of my sleeves are sticking out while the other isn't haha. I liked the look better without the sleeves showing but I guess one unfolded somewhere amidst the picture-taking! lol.

Coveted Cosmetics

Hi everyone! I decided to do a quick post about a bunch of cosmetics that I've been loving lately and noticed myself wearing quite often:

Benefit Erase Paste: I haven't tried many concealers to be honest with you, so I'm happy that I've already found one that works great for me! This concealer has a creamy consistency which I really like, and a little goes a very long way! So even though this isn't exactly the cheapest concealer on the market, a) it WORKS, and b) that tiny jar will last you what feels like forever. There's 3 shades to choose from (light, medium & dark) and I have it in medium.

MAC Powder Blush in Coppertone: I got this blush after watching a video that one of the YouTube make-up gurus, Judy (from itsjudytime), recommended! I took her word for it and she was right -- Coppertone is such a great shade. I never feel the need to wear bronzer either when I've got this shade of blush on.

Philosophy Melon Daiquiri Lipgloss: This is a gloss that is SO perfect for everyday. Love the smell and it works well over a lipstick or on it's own to get a natural glossy shine.

Rimmel Lipstick in Coral Chic: I love me a red lip, but some days you really wanna just give the red a break - and this is definitely the lipstick that does the trick for me. It has a light coral tint that is great for everyday. And, I really do like Rimmel's lipsticks because I feel as though they moisurize your lips quite a bit too.

Finally, my new favourite nailpolish :) I'm guessing that I probably jumped on the Butter bandwagon pretty late. Haha. I love all the fun shades they have to choose from, and the quality of the nailpolish is pretty awesome. Right now I'm currently addicted to Toff (above).

Ombré hair

After months and months of indecisiveness I finally gave into ombré!! To be honest, I'm still getting use to it. I haven't died my hair for years, so every time I catch glimpse of myself in the mirror I have to do a double-take cause it's something so different for me! What do ya guys think?!

The navajo wrap I'm wearing is from Aritzia and I really am obsessed with the print and colours - deep and earthy colour palette that's just so great for Fall. And I really love how you can style it in so many different ways. It comes with a tan leather belt, but I decided to do without it today for a more laid-back look. It was gorgeous all day in Toronto but just a tad chilly... thus it made for the perfect jacket. Super comfy too!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone!! There's so much about Halloween that puts me in such a great mood :*) It's the one day you can transform yourself into anything or anyone you desire, scatter your front lawn with fake spider webs and skulls, AND, eat all the tootsie rolls you want! Haha. Seriously, what's not to love?! I hope everyone got to indulge in some spooky and fun-filled festivity this past weekend! One is never too old to enjoy the craziness that is Halloween ;) My bf and I baked pumpkin spice Halloween-themed cupcakes lastnight and I love how they turned out! Ahh, they were super tasty and addictive. I love pumpkin spice cake oh so much. We also took a ton of pictures of them which I'll post and share with you guys tonight or tomorrow!

Finally moving on to the outfit. I found these Cynthia Rowley shorts at Marshalls a little while back. I remember getting so giddy having found them amidst the endless heaps of clothes which I'm sure most of you are familiar with when going to Marshalls! Haha. I can get quite impatient with hunting through the Marshalls clothing racks, but from my experience, once you've found one great piece that you love, you seem to get on a roll and end up finding so many great things that you can't pass up! Anyhoo, the weather has now hit a steady low which now requires me to always wear stockings! Stockings or panty hose, also known as the wintertime staple for the girl who refuses to stop wearing shorts and skirts during the cold seasons. Haha. That would would be me ;). I love the subtle shoulder detail on this pale mauve 3/4-sleeved blouse (that was a mouthful). I totally tried to avoid wearing black this past Spring and Summer, but I've noticed it slowly start to creep back into my wardrobe for Fall. No complaints, though!

Sunday's Best

Hi everyone! Hope everybody had a great weekend :) It feels as though October is just flying right by and Halloween is just around the corner. I've always been such a sucker for Halloween. I love the spooky yet fun-spirited festivity behind it all. It definitely makes me miss being a kid... my mom made my costumes and I'll never forget the year she made me a pink Princess Jasmine costume. Was definitely my fave! Haha. Even though my role for Halloween now consists of me simply giving out candy, I always enjoy seeing little ones all dressed up and excited to fill their bags with all those sugary and salty goodies ;)

As I mentioned in my last outfit post, I've sort of become addicted to rocking burgundy-coloured pieces, and I was on a serious hunt to find the perfect burgundy or maroon hat for Fall. And voila, Zara had just what I was looking for! Love it so much. This dress, *sigh*.. ain't it pretty?! It is one of those pieces that make you feel great as soon as you put it on. The gorgeous material and floral print make for a very chic dress for night or daytime.

Fall Palette

Let me start off by saying, Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians!! We were so lucky to get some awesome Summer-ish weather this weekend, and totally out of the blue too. In fact, I must say the sun is shining so beautifully through my window and into my bedroom as I type this.. puts me in such a great mood!

This Thanksgiving was filled with quality time with my loved ones, and of course, amaaaazing food. My dad is an incredible cook, and he definitely did not neglect to show off his awesome cooking skills and best dishes this weekend. His famous seafood paella, panko-crusted fish, spring rolls (which I helped with), turkey, ham, mango salad, and a few Filipino dishes, all made an appearance :) Yep, it was a feast. Oh how I love Thanksgiving!

Moving along to this outfit I wore over the weekend -- Burgundy is most definitely one of the key colours of the season. I've totally been hunting down any burgundy-coloured pieces I can find lol... it's such a warm and rich colour. *Ahem* hence this awesome skirt! This skirt has some great movement too, without having much length to it. As for this grey silk button-up, it's gotta be one of my fave pieces in my closet right now. I love the subtle leopard print, and its perfectly squared front pockets. This is an outfit that you could easily adapt to colder weather as well, by simply slipping on a pair of tights and throwing on a comfy cardi or sweater.

Just one final thing - Not sure if anyone can tell, but I tried to create a subtle ombre to my hair. I was SO close to going to a salon to get the ombre done, but one, I heard it can get quite expensive, and two, I decided I just wanted something really subtle because I still wanted to keep my all-dark hair. Since I didn't want a full-out ombre effect, I figured I could just do something small and subtle myself. And, voila! I love how the difference in colour is only truly noticeable in the sunlight :) You can kinda see it in these pictures!

A Complicated Kindness

Okay so forget about all that stuff I was saying before about Fall taking forever to finally kick in! lol The weather we're getting this weekend is a clear indication that Summer is definitely OVER. This is my first official Fall outfit post :) Rocking my favourite new bag that's as sturdy as it is beautiful! I'm also loving how easily maxi skirts transition from Spring/Summer to Fall, and maybe Winter (just double up on the tights or stockings! lol).

Inspiration: Fall Wardrobe

Hi guys! Here's something I just made quickly. The weather has been so unpredictable lately. As soon as we start focusing on Fall weather & considering which Fall staples to buy, the weekend hits us with some incredibly warm and sunny weather. Thus, we're left keeping our shorts and tank tops near-by, and warm cardis & coats still tucked away. BUT, even though the sun still chooses to shine, which I can't complain about, I myself would like to get ideas for fun Fall outfits brewing. Most of the pieces I've included above are from TENOVERSIX's online store. The site currently has a carefully selected range of key pieces for Fall, in my opinion anyway! I'd definitely like to incorporate olives, deep mustards, and browns into my wardrobe this Fall... and, of course, bold and eclectic prints as eye-catching accents.

MANGO's Shopping Night in Toronto

There was an awesome red carpet laid out in front of store.. Such a nice touch for the event! :)

As soon as I arrived, I got to try on a few of my favourite pieces and ended up
choosing the Henley dress to wear for the event (dress worn in my previous post).

The above is a pic of my favourite bag at the store. Such a classic & chic suede satchel. So easy to wear casually or with a dressier outfit. The perfect go-to bag.

I actually can't stop thinking about these pink shoes. They are the perfect shade of pink and have a mid-heel that makes it quite practical to wear for work.

Hi everyone :) So as I mentioned in my previous post, I was lucky enough to help host Mango's Fashion Night at their Eaton Centre location, which took place yesterday. Getting straight to the point, I had SO much fun! It was honestly a blast working with the ladies at the store, meeting super cool Mango customers, helping them put outfits together, and of course, taking loads of pics of the beautiful merchandise. I have been asked by MANGO to help host their infamous Shopping Night that will be held this Saturday where I will be a brand ambassador and stylist during the event. The Shopping Night will have drinks, catering, make-up and a DJ, so it will be a BIG party that all can attend!

Another post with an outfit I wore over the weekend :) We were lucky enough to get some more warm weather and I couldn't fight the urge to give this Spring/Summery dress another go. lol! So I'm sure all of you are wondering, where is this ever-so-lovely tote from?

If you don't already know, this rad tote that features an awesome lyric from Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill', is designed and hand-printed in Toronto by Fieldguided. Believe me when I say, I've carried this tote along with me every day since I got it. I've been filling it with the current book I'm reading, this month's VOGUE, lipgloss & body spray. Not only does it conveniently store all of my daily necessities whilst traveling to and from work, it just LOOKS AWESOME, simply put, with any outfit.

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend :) These pictures were taken on Saturday when my boyfriend and I spent the afternoon downtown to check out Queen West's outdoor art show showcasing some incredible work by local artists. It was such a beautiful day.. though it did get a bit chillier, hence the sweater. I still can't get over how absolutely perfect the colour of this sweater is for the season.. and how the fibers look so brilliant in the sunlight. Would love to wear this over a maxi skirt.

An Ode to Summer

Fall is slowly approaching and Summer is taking it's final stretch. The feeling truly is bittersweet. There are so many things I love about Summer: sunshine, warm nights, patios, sangrias (my fave), BBQs, catching a tan, light & 'easy' outfits, and so much more. But without a doubt, I truly enjoy the Fall season as well. I adore Fall fashion; from the deep and warmer colour palettes, to the endless ways that one can style outfits by playing with layers. BUT, as an ode to Summer, I decided to do this post: wearing just a few simple pieces that are emblematic of Summer, and Spring as well.

I made this flower crown over a year ago and can't remember the last time I've worn it. I decided it should make an appearance :) Thx for reading everybody!

As promised, I am back with another outfit post, rocking my new serpent mumu from Fitzroy Boutique. Ahh, I am already so obsessed with this piece! It's so versatile and that's probably what I love most about it .. well, that and the fact that I'm currently hooked on reptile prints. I love how sheer and light it is .. so once Fall weather is in full effect it'll be so easy to layer with. And yeah, these Chloe Sevigny x OC shoes are pretty much one of my favourite pieces of footwear. I have a serious fetish for wooden heels or wedges!

*NOTE: I DO realize that the front of my house is slowly becoming a weak (and awkward) setting and backdrop for these outfit posts. Hahaha. I promise to find more interesting places to take photos next time!

Within downtown Toronto's prime area for celeb-hunting during the infamous TIFF is where you'll find the amazing Fitzroy Boutique. Last Friday, I ventured off to Yorkville to visit Angela and Julie's newly-opened pop-up shop, with the obvious hopes of maybe crossing paths with Ryan Gosling (Kidding. I've let the dream die long ago). I first found out about the soon-to-open boutique about a month ago and straight-away began to anticipate the official launch. On their website, Angela and Julie featured a list of awesome lines that they would carry -- most of which are either rare to find, or unavailable altogether in TO; such as Boyod, BB Dakota, and Australian brands, One Teaspoon and Ladakh. As soon as I read all of the lines their pop-up shop would be selling, I could. not. wait.

As soon as my boyfriend and I approached their adorable storefront, I could literally hear myself begin to 'ooh' and 'aah'. I eagerly stepped in, and it was love at first sight.. (HA! Corny, but oh so true). I could not fathom how beautiful of a space it was. The white interior truly allowed for the beautiful garments to shine, and stop any fashionista dead in her tracks. And need I mention that the boutique carries an array of lovely Philosophy essentials which add delightful spruces of colour throughout the space (refer to images below ;) ). I was in heaven. Angela and Julie immediately greeted me and I was so happy to finally meet them after following their blog and twitter for a while now. I cannot emphasize enough how utterly SWEET and COOL these girls are. Angela took me around the shop answering any questions I had about the store and how it came to fruition. Angela and Julie had been bestfriends for as long as they could remember, and always spoke about opening a retail space one day. Finally, after years of traveling and working, a few times abroad, the girls finally brought their dream-shop to life. They knew they wanted to carry rad, fashion-forward lines that weren't easy for girls to get their hands on here in Toronto. And, possibly one of my favourite parts of their concepts, they agreed that no piece in their store would be priced more than $200. Amazing.

After trying some of my favourite pieces, a few of which Angela helped me pick out, I was literally torn on what to go with because I loved it all. Finally, I decided on this amazing sheer serpent-print mumu by Show Me Your Mumu, and the loveliest long-sleeve floral dress by Ladakh. My next blog post will feature at least one of these incredible pieces! Hehe.

I had such a blast meeting Angela and Julie, getting to know them a little more, and shopping around their super cool boutique. Only open until September 30th, the girls will be back with another pop-up in December and I can't wait!

All Camel Everything

OK. So if it isn't obvious already, I am obsessed with camel. lol! So I kinda went for a monochromatic look today with all my favourite camel-coloured pieces, with the exception of the jean shorts, of course. Found this awesome blazer just last week at Forever 21... I found it with the button yanked off but it was the last one, so I grabbed it. Also, I've been pretty addicted to the polkadot silk top from Zara - so easy to dress it up or down.

Had such an awesome long weekend. Finally got to relax! And there's no better feeling than spending much-needed quality time with the people you love. These past three days were just what I needed. I also got to catch up on a LOT of reading... those who know me well enough, know that I'm a sucker for 'chic lit.' Hahaha... I really have no idea who came up with the name, but for whomever is unfamiliar with the term - it basically refers to chic literature, a.k.a. GIRLY BOOKS. Haha. Just finishing up Sophie Kinsella's Twenties Girl, and then I'm onto reading One Fifth Avenue by the one and only, Candace Bushnell.

I think most of us can agree that today was truly the final day of Summer. One, because school routinely commences after Labour Day long weekend, and two, because it was just straight-up COLD today. Yup, the sun totally abandoned us *cue the violin*. For those of you going back to school tomorrow, GOOD LUCK! ;) This is officially my first year not returning to school... yep. I'm experiencing 'grow-up life' with my nine to five. Hehehe. I'm excited for what the future has in store.

Hey everyone! Back with another outfit post :) I'm currently using my good ol' point in shoot and still in the market for a new SLR so please bare with pics for now. Hehe.

Currently in long weekend-mode... and let me tell you how amazing it feels just to have that ONE extra day to relax and spend some much-needed quality time with family and friends :) And of course, fit in some blogging time. As cliche as it may sound, these pictures really do not do this dress justice! In real life the dress is, in all honesty, TDF. Hah! But really... it's such a lovely colour - I'd say a subtle or pale minty green. A colour that I find to be quite rare to spot and what I've been on the hunt for lately. And the booties, I could pair these bad boys with ANYTHING.

The end to a long hiatus

Hi everyone! Ok ok, I know it's been forever since I've updated, and I wanted to apologize! I've neglected this blog for a while and I'm excited to say I really am back! So much has happened in the past year or so. Here's a quick rundown on the most important, though: I completed my Honours Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Toronto, and am now working full-time! It's a new schedule/routine/LIFE I'm still gradually adjusting to, but I must say I'm feeling quite grown up. Hehehe. Taking the subway and bus from downtown to uptown Toronto is something very new to me, but I'm loving it nonetheless. And one more exciting thing - I'm going on a one week vacay to Montego Bay, JAMAICA with my boyfriend and cousins on Aug. 15. Can't wait!!!

Anywho, I am focused on getting this blog going at full-speed once again! I've missed connecting with people via blogger and sharing my love for fashion. Now I'm going to try my best to include other numerous loves of mine such as make-up, food, & travel. Ahh, I can't wait. Let's get this going!

Above is a pic from the weekend. Sorry, not so much the most inspired outfit/look. This weekend consisted of such beautiful (and very HOT) weather, and of course, my boyfriend & I had to check out our spots downtown while soaking in the sun. He snapped this pic of me just outside of 69vintage's "V" concept shop. Their shop is currently filled with carefully picked eclectic and bohemian pieces that embody a Woodstock theme. Amazing. I'm planning on taking a trip back there soon to take some pics of the interior. They've really transformed the space to create that 70s Woodstock vibe.

I purchased this silk top from Value Village about a year ago and it's still one of my favourites. I know it's a tad short hahaha, but it shows off these awesome tights perfectly! I'm in love with the rose & lace detailing and the massive V-shaped collar. Let me know what you guys think ;)

I feel as though I'm still in birthday girl-mode even though I realize one can technically only keep that title for a total of 24-hours. Hahaha... This week has been absolutely amazing, though. I spent every single day doing something I wouldn't 'typically do' or doing things I have honestly never done before. On my birthday as well as the day after I was relishing in LG Fashion Week awesomeness -- attended a few shows and met so many amazing people. I have SO MANY PICTURES to post here from those days but I honestly don't know where to start. Hahaha... Okay so I know I've seriously been lacking with the new posts but the slack is ending NOW. lol... I promiseeee I will post much more frequently and since school's almost out, I'm pretty sure this is one promise I can definitely keep :) hah! So the past few weeks have been pretty much amazing, and this week coming up is about to top it right off! First things first, I am turning the big double deuce on Tuesday! And I cannot waaaaaait to start of my twenty-second year just right with one of my best friends :) She won tickets to three different shows for next week's LG fashion week and I am her +1! Ahhhhh, it's going to be awesome and you can count on a whole lot of amazing pics to be posted.

Last night my closest friends and I went out to Toronto's infamous Shuffle party for a pre-birthday celebration and it was craaaaaziness! Of course I spent this entire day nursing a terrible hangover (lmfao...) but it was well worth it. Got my drink & dance on. Holla! Unfortunately we didn't bring a cam with us to the club but here are just a few pics just before we left my place.

Today's weather is absolutely amazing :) I also have Mondays off from school, so this day cannot get any better. My day started off with all-you-can-eat sushi with a good friend where I got ridiculously stuffed, mostly off dynamite rolls, my fave :P lol... And now my sis and I are off to hunt at value village.

So last night was the big game.. CANADA versus USA, men's hockey. Unfortunately I was stuck at work but I hung out at the bar during the entire game, lmao. And when Crosby took the winning shot I went absolutely WILD! Haha. Hugging and high fiving everyone in sight. What an amazing feeling that was. Thanks to Facebook and everyone's crazy status updates I was well aware of the madness that was going on downtown. And yes, I was pretty damn jealous! I just love how much the Olympics united everyone. It's such a rare thing to see nowadays, and I could not feel more proud and patriotic.

The past two weeks have been packed with all of the 'Olympic hype.' Gotta admit, I was pretty sad to see it go :*( It came and went, just like that. Feels like only yesterday my siblings and I were getting super excited while we watched the opening ceremonies.. anxious to see what medals team Canada would receive, most importantly, on Canadian soil. I am SO DAMN PROUD of every single medal our Canadian athletes earned over the past few weeks! MOST gold medals won by a country, EVER?! And not to mention, on our own land?! That was like icing on the cake. Almost gives me goosebumps, seriously!

Personally, I found the Olympics to be so inspiring. Find your true passion, and make it your life. No dream is unattainable. And on that note, I'll leave you guys with one of my favourite quotes:

Today is officially the last day of reading week. Now as grateful as I am that we even get a break at this period in the semester at all, I feel like that very brief hiatus wasn't at all that necessary. lol. But I was able to catch up on things that I hardly have the time for while the tests and assignments accumulate, like getting together with friends and going out for a drink or somethin' without that guilty conscience constantly reminding me of all the work I've got to do. Also, I just bought a new sketchbook that I've been filling rather quickly, and my sister and I have been building a list of projects that I'll soon be able to share with you guys as soon as those come to fruition. And they will. I have big plans for 2010. :*)

So I woke up today and could not be more happy to see the sun shining ever so brightly once again! It's days like these where I honestly can't wipe this huge smile off my face. The sun always makes me feel refreshed and renewed in a way... anxious to see what good things this [sunny] day will bring.

Hello blogger world :*) Pls forgive my lack of update over the past few weeks! I'm happy to announce that I will have many more posts soon enough to keep things interesting for y'aaall.

As per usual, school has taken over my life and I feel as though my mind can never have even a second of rest. There is always something to stress over and it can be very straining. But the truth is, I do like to keep busy.

My Favourite Chunky Sweater.

I bought this sweater from Aritzia a few weeks ago and I've been living in it ever since! It's just the perfect thing to both cozy-up and keep warm in.

Changing the subject a lil, I've come up with my three New Years resolutions:

1) Stop cracking my knuckles. This is a horrible habit of mine that I've had since I was like... 8-years-old. It has the ability to strike a look of disgust on my friends' faces whenever I find myself unable to resist. lmfao!

2) Continue my work-out regime. I'm super lucky because I work out with my bf and he comes up with new routines for me to do weekly so that I never get bored.

3) Count my blessings and cut my losses. I've carried a lot of excess baggage the past few years... but 2010 is going to be different. I need to start fresh with the right perspective and quit dwelling on the past.

My New Found Love.

I have class in about two hours and I haaaaate evening classes! Boo!

As recently mentioned in my previous post, I have become addicted to make-up tutorials on youtube! lol They honestly make me want to raid Sephora and try every single product. I've been starting to try new and different things with the minimal products I have right now. And then as I learn more, I'll expand on my brush and product collections :) However, I did have an itch to try something new yesterday, so I purchased Benefit's creaseless (cream) shadow/liner in "skinny jeans." The colour is just gorgeous. A really luxurious looking grey or pewter. The packaging is just adorable too! Hence my lil photo session with it hahaha. This will be my first time using a cream shadow. Well, I'll update you guys on how it goes. OH, and I love how it can be your base, primer, or even a liner as well. But aaaaaaaanyways, lol more make-up talk later. I gotta run.

I have Mondays off so today is OFFICIALLY the final day of my Christmas holiday :) I spent my morning playing around with the new cam, watching youtube make-up tutorials (my new addiction), and eating a banana split. I have work in about an hour and usually I'd be dreading it but I don't mind making a little more money before it's back to only being able to work one or two shifts a week. I'm pretty excited for this semester's classes. It's time to kick some butt.

Self-timer with a dslr sans a remote is pretty damn difficult. Esp when trying to capture a shot of yourself. These were the only two clear ones :)

Our Christmas holiday has come to a sad end. However, I am so incredibly grateful for the quality time I was able to spend with my loved ones, and simply being able to kick-back and relax.

Today we went downtown to go ice skating. Unfortunately, I was only able to skate a total of TEN minutes! HAHAHA. It honestly felt something like negative a thousand degrees. I tried SO SO hard to suck it up and enjoy the ONLY chance I'll probably have to go ice skating this Winter... but I just couldn't. lol.

It feels like Winter is only truly starting now... (if that makes any sense).

RESURRECTING THE BLOG.

I've slacked a little too much the past few months. HAHAHA. But don't you worry... I'm back here to stay ;) My boyfriend and I got a new Canon DSLR which I am SO damn excited about! I was feeling a little discouraged in continuing to make posts for this blog-- largely because I was sick of using my old point n' shoot that seems to gradually be dying down each time I use it. Soooo, YA! New camera means new and prettier pictures, thank God :)

Ringing in the new year felt incredible! This is the start of a new decade ... and this decade will be maaaajor. I can't wait to see what the next ten years has in store for me and my loved ones.

So far I only have two New Years resolutions. First, STOP cracking my knuckles! lmfao as stupid as that sounds, it is honestly a MUST as this point. I immediately start to feel pain in my finger joints just by simply holding or carrying something moderately heavy.... (small tidbit hahaha). My second is to kick the slack and give this semester all I got.

Today was such an amazing day for so many reasons.

After a harsh glimpse of the insanely cold winter that is to come, we have actually been blessed with some warm & sunny weather. Just when I think it's time to bust out the heavy duty outerwear, mother nature hits us with some amazing sun.

Jose and I did what we normally do when we wake up nice & early and the sun is beaming. Headed straight downtown to do a little shopping. Also had the (tdf) pesto pizza @ Mama's Pizza. Sooo greasy & yummy lol.

UO is having some killer in-store sales right now. I'm pretty sure my bf has heard my "this is the last time I'm buying anything until Christmas," speech about a hundred times now in just the past two months. lmfao. But seriously. I need to start saving NOWWWW. I can't believe Halloween is over and already Wal-Mart has set up their Christmas goodies aisle. Time is just racing by.

Oh and, just a few weeks ago I officially gave up my BB and moved onto the iPhone. It's almost like having a mini macbook. Ok not entirely, but I'm sure some of you get what I mean.

My apologies, once again, for the SLACK on my blog. I've honestly never felt this busy in my life. But it's a good busy :) ... one I can't complain about. I promise to make many many more posts during the Christmas break which I absolutely cannot wait for!! I think I smell NYC for New Years??? Jose is down. C'est possible. Oh and... I think I've officially fell OFF of the GG bandwagon :\. Do they have a new writer, or something? I dunno, they're lacking something that was once there in season 1. "Going off to college" phase is never good for a TV show I think... things were juicier when they were back at Constance. Look what happened when the Saved By the Bell kids went off to college lol. I think I really started to be like, 'wtf?' when they added Hilary Duff. WHY WHY WHYYYY did they do that. I have nothing against Hilary Duff, I think she's is stunning and a pretty good actress but.... blah, I dunno... I like how all of the original characters were, kind of unknown and new to the TV scene so they fell into their characters perfectly...and now, Hilary Duff??? theee heck. Okay I'm ranting now. Anyways... shows I cannot miss: The Vampire Diaries, 90210, Californication, Melrose Place, Top Chef (AMAZING), Project Runway.....True Blood is definitely up there but unfortunately we are awaiting its next season.

Seriously, no matter how much homework, essays, assignments I have to get done, I somehow find a way to watch each episode, hardly ever on TV though, I pretty much watch everything online now lol so I can watch whenever, which I'm sure many others are doing as well.

I feel like my fashion dreams just came true after seeing this collection.

LOL...does that sound really corny? Well I don't have any other way to describe it, really.

The hair, the sunglasses, the metallic dinosaur bags...lol and omggg the DRESSES!

I see metallics, and I die. The colour palette for this collection could not be more perfect. I love the funky spider prints, and the cut-out corsets on the mini dresses. Okay this paragraph is turning into just a huge jumble of random words off the top of my head as I scroll through the collection again & again. This is what happens when I get really excited. So whimsical and fresh and I just adore it ALL.

LOVED D&G this season.

So it seems that D&G has structured their collection around creating the quintessential cowgirl look for women's Spring/Summer 2010. I have to say, I'm really digging every aspect of this collection ... the lace ruffles, denim, khaki suede, and subtle Disney references all blend together perfectly. And the boots are just gorgeous! This was such a refreshing collection.

Apologies for hardly updating :*(... school's keeping me compleeeetely occupied. If I'm not at school, work, or doing work for school, I'm most likely sleeping.

My sister and I went to the Toronto clothing show this weekend and it was aweeesome :) Spent most of our time scrummaging through all of the vintage, and though most of it was over-priced, there was a lot of great stuff the sellers had found or collected over the years. Hopefully this week I'll have some time to take a few pictures of all my yummy finds. Aside from the vintage though, I bought this gorgeous floral and lace romper, hand sewn by a lovely Toronto-based designer who is only in her second year in George Brown's Fashion program. Everyone mussst check out her site & clothing here: Sui Generis. She was also showcasing/selling her own jewelry which was all just as lust-worthy as her clothing. Here is a picture of the Mary Bracelet that I just ADORE, but was torn over buying or not... I regret not getting it now because it was less expensive at the show than on her site and I just think hand jewelry is gradually becoming the next it jewelry.

Don't you just love it?! :)

On another note, Summer is slowly but surely fading from us. I think I've worn shorts or a skirt just about EVERY SINGLE DAY of Summer and it will be difficult to tuck them deep into my off-season drawer. I guess it'll be fun to play around with trousers and different styles of pants, other than my go-to skinnies for Fall and Winter. Also, I wanted to mention that after having been heartbroken over the Co-op boots that I was more than unable to afford, Aldo has created something sliiightly similar that I've had my eye on for a while now..

I like the tan suede much more than the black leather. They remind me so much

of the gorgeous tan suede co-op boots Sienna Miller always wore. Anyways, I'll leave it here for now :)

Morning y'all :) Now I now what you're all asking yourselves right about now ... WHO is this breath-taking beauty in the above pictures? It's my good galfriend Susada Virasih. This fashionista is alwaysss dressed to the nines from head-to-toe. When I first scoped these pictures, it was a done-deal, I decided I HAD to have the same docs! LOL. This lady totallyyy sold them for me, and now I'm on a hunt! She's also rocking a thrifted jean jacket she found at value village.

Unfortunately, Susada does not have a blog :( ..even though she is currently one of my style icons, and I desperately want her to start one! lol. ALL IN FAVOUR OF SUSADA STARTING HER OWN BLOG NOW, PLS RAISE YOUR HAND HERE! (...in my comment box, of course lol). Summer isn't quite officially over yet and I miss it already :*( I didn't quite accomplish all that I had planned for this Summer, but hey, anything minus school is something to be damn grateful for lol. I can't deny that I am semi-excited to go back to school and keep myself crazy busy for the next eight months or so. I didn't work much this Summer & was starting to get a little too laid back. So it's back to the books in T minus two days...Eeeeeeee!

Outfit-wise, I just bought this skirt from h&m a few weeks ago for a pretty darn good price and I am loving its versatility. You can mix and match it with just about anything to give it either a casual or more dressy look. I'm itching to pair it with a vintage tank and combat boots.

I've been meaning to make a collage of Taylor Momsen's recent street style & GG set pics for some time now. But this'll have to do until that actually happens. Geeeez, THAT DRESS. THOSE SHOES. HER. I have been following Whitney's style since her not-so-significant role in the early days of The Hills. As the years have passed, I can't help but express how much I've grown to admire her TV personality and awesome style to go with it. She's got people constantly saying, "What was she thinking?!"... so in my books, she's definitely doing something right. She has a gutsy sense of style and makes me want to take a few risks too. The above is a small glimpse of the highlight of my week :) And probably one of the highlights of my summer lol. My girl Liz works at a salon downtown and hooked Vena and I up with some fresh cuts :) It was soooo awesome, also considering that Liz paired me up with the coolest hair stylist imaginable. We headed to Earl's afterwards for some nourishment lol. As the end of Summer draws nearer I realize it's time to soak up these last few weeks, and I'm so grateful I got to have a day like yesterday with two of my favourite girls.

My apologies because these pictures aren't the greatest quality lol. I'll have another high-quality photo session up soon :) Even though my cut wasn't a drasssstic one, let me tell you that the hair stylist cut off a LOT of hair, thinning it out completely. Running my fingers through it now is sort of awkward - but this is what I needed so much, and I looove it. For someone with naturally (unmanageable) curly hair and is thus inclined to straighten it as much as possible, this was an extremely good change.

Dashboard Confessional has found it's way back into my life and I can't turn them off! lol. Vindicated and Remember to Breathe are on the replay.

EDIT: I meant to write some kind of blurb with these pics, and just remembered now, lol! So what do you think of this top/dress? haha. There are so many ways you can wear this thing, I love it. When I first open my closet this bright neon top is one of the first things my eye catches. It's funny because when I bought it I didn't even really like it that much, I've had it for over a year now. In one of the pics you can see me struggling to keep the sleeve tucked in haha... that's because I think it looks better without the sleeves. I wanna cut 'em off but I'm kind of scared to; I know if I do the arm holes are going to be huuuge, just because the top itself is so oversized hahah.

On the Sunniest of Days.

Wow it is more than gorgeous out today.. my sister said this weather makes her wish we had a swimming pool in our backyard, and I could not agree more! Sadly Summer vacation is coming to an end. But this final month of my four month vaca is in some sense, a bittersweet one. There are several reasons why I truly love* August: first, it's when we [should be] getting the HOT sun most often *crosses fingers*, back to school shopping lol, and there are several traditional Summer events that occur exclusively during this final month of vaca (in Toronto, of course)...such as, Taste of the Danforth (this weekend, YAY!!!) & aside from the event's amazing food galore, they have several thrift shops in the area that I always hit up and they have good shit! lol. Secondly, the EXHIBITION is another Tdot must-do in August. Also, I have been wanting to go to Wonderland but it doesn't look like that's going to be happening. Boo.

Anyhoo, I'm doing another outfit/photo sesh later today LOL... so those pics will be up tonight or tomorrow morning :D

P.S. I'm on lookbook now! I only posted one outfit so far hahaha... but SHOUTOUT to my girl PATTEE for showing me blog+lookbook love. I believe she is one of my soulmates. hehe

One final thing before I'm up & outta here... here's a quick shot of my levis shorts that I bought from Value Village quite a long while back and I cut 'em up just yesterday.
